I first ran across Hobbytron during my R/C helicopter phase. I found them online with a Google search and I’ve bought a few items from them. I won’t be doing it again because everything I bought from them was either Dead on Arrival or suffered a factory defect within the first couple of days I had it.
Customer support doesn’t exist. Their website has an online chat feature, but I have yet to see it operational. Sending emails to the company go unanswered. Hobbytron is a company like Raidentech and others that are outlets for Chinese toys. Their prices are attractive but one sees why as soon as they buy something. I have a dead boat, a dead helicopter, a dead car and a dead tank from them. All in all I’ve wasted $150 by trusting them. As I said, it won’t happen again.
I include Hobbytron here because the carcasses of the toys I bought from them have been used to make other robotic devices. But it’s not a great way to go about collecting robot parts. Much better to go buy the individual components from reliable companies and build them up from scratch. The parts I gleaned from my purchases were definitely not worth the money spent on them. Then too, it’s a rip-off. They know their products are cheap and short lived, that’s why they don’t respond to questions about defects but are immediate in their replies to pre-sale questions.
I write this in the hope it will keep others from falling for the sales routines and advertisements and getting victimized as I did.
