The problem with a hot and cold wife is that it is impossible to create a middle ground mix; and from what has passed so far, it seems unlikely that will ever be achieved. It is NOT your fault, Bob. Even if it can be traced to the pressures on your wife - some of which she has clearly chosen - it is not something you CAUSED. It is grossly unfair for her to keep acting as if you were deliberately attempting to make her life miserable and for her to make yours even worse than it already is.

Sigh. If only I had some resources...

Please call the VA tomorrow and tell them you MUST have some kind of O2 for the weekend... and if someone doesn't deliver, I really will begin driving over there and go about getting the media on your front stoop - which will undoubtably further piss off "The Wife." (grin, grin) yer pal

I appreciate how candid your blog is. My step dad is going through the same horrible affliction of myeloma, and you remind me a lot of him. Just wanted to say you have a fan in me, and my prayers and hopes are with you:)

You know, Bob, I find it somewhat curious that neither your wife nor my S.O. will read our blogs. My situation is a little different, but if my S.O. was writing a blog with some regularity, I would certainly take the time to read what he was thinking about. My S.O. has a little bit of an excuse because he's mildly dyslexic so casual reading is not his choice when he has to read so much in order to fight back against the banks filing legal motions, etc. But still, while I am not writing about legal briefs and foreclosures, I would like it if he took a little more interest. My children don't read it, either.

As to getting a house from a foreclosure, go for it. Don't think about the reasons why. Right now it all has to be about you. If there is a celestial being who judges these things, he (or she) will not find you lacking... perhaps you can find one close to a grocery story that you like to shop at so it's convenient. We'll just intend it all comes together for you... yer pal

Shall I call the media? Would hospice like to be interviewed on national television? Would they like me to do the interview? I am used to asking the hard questions like, "Do you support depriving Bob from essential O2 in order to follow along with these archaic rules which scientifically have no bearing on reality?" and "His lawyer can get in touch with your lawyer and discuss the frivolous penalties for denying something which would keep Bob alive longer, is that right?" and "So Hospice is supposed to make it possible for people to do.... what?"

While I am not a smoker I have never done anything to impose my preferences on a smoker. I was married to someone who smoked, but he enjoyed having our house smoke-free and did it outside. Not because I pressured him; it was his own choice. But I will fight very hard for a smoker's right to have air... and plenty of it.

Let me know if I can alert the media to a headline story: Hospice tries to kill patient before his time.... yer pal

Well I must say, ahem - damned good work, Ole Boy... proper to put those harridans in their place, doncha see? Sounds like you are feeling better in some respects, and I wouldn't want someone telling me what I could and where I could do it unless they were prepared to get the same message from me.

It is totally unprofessional to threaten you under ANY circumstances... and it is wrong, wrong, wrong of them to make up such fantastical stories about O2 - now you be a good little boy and stop lighting matches under the bedspread, do you hear me? or I will have to call your Fah-ther... ree-dick-u-lous!

What scares me is how mercurial your wife is about your situation... when you are a few dance steps away from St. Peter she wants to be oh so solicitous... but when you are waltzing to your own tune again, she gets cranky and petulant. Just watch out that she doesn't slip you a Haldol cocktail!! In fact, Hospice should remove all their drugs if you are no longer their 'client.'

The earlier post(s) about Hospice was/were anxiety-producing - especially from the standpoint of their drug-labeling methods. What's to keep (maybe not in your house) some experimentally-driven teen from thinking that "an all-day 'pill" sounds pretty good after the shitty day at school the day before?

Keep stirring the pot, Bob... something is bound to surface! yer pal
